DOUG WEDDLE

Chief Financial Officer
Doug was born and raised in Johnson County. He graduated from Edinburgh High School and after spending one year at a college in South Georgia, he transferred to Franklin College and graduated with a B.A. degree in 1983. He and Kim have been married for 40 years. A couple years after college his family made the decision to turn their family farm into a golf course. Construction began and Deer Valley Golf Course opened in May,1986. They sold Deer Valley in 2016, and shortly after, the opportunity came up to purchase Americare Hospice, which he was very familiar with because Kim had started Americare Home Health and Hospice in the Franklin area many years before. Americare Hospice was a great help to their family in the last months with their mother. They thought, what a great way to continue to pass on the care and compassion given to their family by continuing the hospice tradition. Himself, Dr Mitch Cornett, and their wives, Karen and Kim, met together and felt led to pursue their dream to purchase Americare Hospice. Dr Cornett had been the medical director for Americare Hospice since Kim opened it in 1985. So with all the Hospice experience, the decision was an easy one. The one important part that they all wanted was to have the hometown, family feel atmosphere for their staff and their patients and their families. As a result, they decided on the name Main Street Hospice, “your hometown hospice”.

Doug - "It is important to us that our patients and their families know that our staff will give the care and compassion that we would give our own family."
