Who Qualifies for Hospice? 

  • Hospice care is for those who are considered to be terminally ill with a prognosis of 6 months or less if the disease were to run its normal course. ​
  • Patients are re-evaluated for hospice eligibility ongoing and every certification period–two 90-day periods and an unlimited number of 60-day periods.
  • ​Hospice care is palliative and not curative in nature.
  • ​The patient must reside within the hospice service area. A patient’s residence may be in a facility.
  • ​Main Street Hospice becomes the   professional manager of the patient’s care and provides for any services, medications and supplies related to the terminal illness and related conditions and reasonably necessary.

Areas We Service

Main Street Hospice is licensed to serve the following counties in Indiana:  Bartholomew, Hendricks, Monroe, Brown, Johnson, Morgan, Hancock, Marion, Shelby.
Hospice care is for persons with a life expectancy of six months or less, as determined by the primary physician and the Hospice physician. Hospice care is available to all eligible terminally ill patients regardless of race, color, sex, nationality, age, religion, mental or physical disability.
